Kung Fury Is a Must-See Film That Won’t Eat Up Your Time.

At any rate, Kung Fury will have a sequel slated to be released in November 2023. From the synapsis, it will feature more time-traveling, another villain, and it won’t be a featurette but a feature-length film. Now, I’m a fan of KF but the feature-length has me a little uneasy. At the same time, I’m extremely intrigued and want to see how this plays out as well as what it leads to for the Kung Fury series.

Could Tromaville and The Toxic Avenger Thrive as a Mainstream Cinematic Universe?

Ultimately, Tromaville—existing for just about 40 years—has the characters and adventures but not enough the backstory to keep things going and hold interest. With that said: they have the characters. Writing is much better than it was in the late 1970s and 1980s because some consumers became nerds of these franchises and a few became writers.

Well, except for Spider-Man but he was a victim of tabloid-grade slander by New York’s main newspaper—and his employer. Also, J. Jonah just had an irrational hate of Spidey, the X-Men were dealing with racism from fellow citizens, future problems, problems from the future, and another group of powerful mutants—perceived as terrorists—wanting extreme change for mutants.

Warner Bros vs Disney vs Hanna-Barbera: The Original Animation Domination.

Now, I’m more of Warner Bros and Hanna-Barbera fan because I grew up in the 90s and those two studios flooded TV in the early 90s with toons. When it came to Disney, it was mainly to see their movies but their presence on TV was never as great or enticing as WB and HB. Plus, I’ve always been bigger on TV than film because I like the flexibility TV allows in case a season starts out meh, it can possibly rebound by the end of the season.

Looney Tunes and Merrie Melodies could get away with this because it always had bangers. The Wonderful World of Disney, Hanna-Barbera, Universal Studios—those studios’ shorts could repeat the same gags and have it work. For some reason Fleischer Studios couldn’t really get that down with Popeye or Betty Boop. Ultimately, you had to really be a Popeye fan for the characters’ adventures and misadventures to really tickle.

The Greatest Cartoon Cat.

Tom Cat’s battles with Jerry Mouse made for some the funniest six-to-nine-minute shorts not involving Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck. In all honesty, Jerry gave Tom a rough time all though the Greatest Cartoon Cat did mess with Jerry as well. I mean, once Tom knew that Jerry was in the wall and spared no expense to kill Jerry.

The Rise and Decline of the 2000s Anime Fansub Scene.

Anime fansubs on the other hand couldn’t really compete with the speed and ease of paying a flat rate and getting all the content you want. It’s friendly to diehard anime fans, newbies, and the technologically impaired because torrenting—while not particularly difficult—was more involved than having a subscription.

Image Comics and HBO Should’ve Been the Dream Team for Superhero Content.

There was a ton of potential for this to be a big thing for Image Comics had it not ended whether it remained a cartoon or was given the live action treatment. However, there are always reasons for partnerships ending and who knows if it would’ve even extended to other series. Spawn has the content for spin-offs as both Curse of Spawn and Angela were good series when they came out.

Not only can you can do this whenever without a bunch of commercial breaks. That beats broadcast and cable television each and every time! If anything, it should’ve moved to being a digital network years earlier and exist as something like Crunchy Roll or Netflix for animation. Remaining an actual network was going to be a problem for this particular part of the WB Discovery networks.

ThunderCats is a Franchise That Deserves a Long-Run Series.

That’s because ThunderCats is anime. It was produced by a Japanese animation studio and distributed by an American production company. For years among U.S anime fans, there was this debate about whether it was anime. Personally, I think it was because of the time the series aired that raised some doubt from fans.
